One-Day Rowing Clinic

Ages: 15-19

Following our Junior Day, on Sunday, February 26th we will be offering a one-day rowing clinic with an opportunity to work with all of the Cornell Rowing coaches in a series of training sessions focused on physical training, technique, and erg test preparation.

Clinic Highlights:

  • Work in our indoor rowing tanks
  • Coordinated ergometer technique/training
  • Concentrated video analysis
  • Classroom seminar on training to be a competitive athlete and spring racing strategies
  • Special coxswain clinic offered
  • Lunch

Clinic Schedule:

  • 8:30am: Check in at Teagle Hall
  • 8:45-9:45am: Session 1 (on campus or at boathouse)
  • 10-11am: Session 2
  • 11am-12:15pm: Lunch
  • 12:30-1:30pm: Session 3 (on campus or at boathouse, switch from morning sessions)
  • 1:45-2:45pm: Session 4
  • 2:45pm: Depart campus

Clinic fees: $125 including all sessions and lunch (*training t-shirt is available for purchase)

One-Day Coxswain Clinic

Ages: 15-19

Following our Junior Day, on Sunday, February 26th we will be offering a one-day rowing clinic with an opportunity to work with all of the Cornell Rowing coaches in a series of training sessions focused on physical training. Run concurrently with our Rowing Clinic, coxswains will spend time with a current Assistant Coach and former Division 1 coxswain on a variety of topics.

Coxswain Clinic Highlights:

  • Classroom sessions to discuss topics including:
    • Steering
    • Practice/Race prep
    • How to navigate the Coxswain/Coach and Coxswain/Rower relationship
    • Discussion on the role of the coxswain
    • Race day execution
    • One technique oriented session working with the additional rowing staff

High Performance Rowing Camp

  • Dates: July 23-27, 2017
  • Ages: 15-19
  • Price: $989 (Resident) / $825 (Commuter)

This camp is geared toward experienced, intermediate, and/or novice rowers who want to sense what it is like to row, train, and live as a competitive Division I athlete. This camp can help to prepare you for summer racing, fall seasons, the start of a rowing career (for learn to row individuals) and beyond. We will utilize a mix of eights, fours, and pairs depending on skill level. The week may include, but is not limited to- general skill instruction and coaching (individual and boat focused), seat racing, erg tests, strenuous water and land workouts, video review, yoga, seminars about training, the recruiting process, and more.

This camp is designed to focus on general skill building in the sport of rowing, race strategy, competitive skills, tools for erging, and supplement basic technical knowledge. Coxswains will receive individual feedback, specific coxswain sessions and trainings, and an opportunity to create and review recordings. Row twice daily from the state of the art Cornell University Rowing Center on Cayuga Lake. Utilize the Cornell Rowing facilities on campus as well including: ergs (a variety of types) and indoor tanks.

All campers receive a long sleeve training shirt.
